Primary Goal

To check mobility and stability of the muscled of the hips and lower extremities. Poor stability may make this test difficult to perform. If it does, try working on one-legged balance until it improves and retest. If you have poor mobility, simply follow the Next Steps item to increase flexibility. Deficiencies in the test from either cause may inhibit your ability to properly lift objects from the floor or contribute to low-back pain.
